16 May 2015

2nd Knight Riders visited Sheddocksley to face QC/Stoneywood Dyce on Saturday afternoon with interruptions expected for rain & crazy winds. QC/Stoneywood Dyce won the toss and elected to Field. New opening pair of Sajeev and Pradeep got us off to a positive start seeing off the new ball and added 32 runs for the first wicket.Opener Pradeep was clean bowled by R.taylor for 8. Sajeev played another composed innings and was marching towards a big score before getting run out on 48 (6x4, 1x6).Selva was out LBW for 4 and Deepu Chipped in a quick 8 which included a big six. In his first game as skipper "The Gaint" Vinodh led by example, smashing two fours and a six to score 18 runs in 13 balls. Mohan contributed a valuable 25 runs(4x4) and was bowled out by F.Chowdary who picked up total of 4 wickets. Tail-enders Ayyapan 17 (1x6) & Veerapan 11 chipped in useful runs and skipper Vinodh declared the innings at 162/9 (42 Overs)

In reply,  QC/Stoneywood Dyce Openers E.Steinson and J.Khan put on 72  before Pradeep (4-0-27-2) finally made the breakthrough via one of two good catches by wicket-keeper Sajeev. Then run rate slowed & wickets fell at regular intervals thanks to some accurate bowling, by Mohan (11-03-35-4) & Selva(10-01-29-2) who were the pick of the attack finishing with 6 wickets between them.Ayyapan took a beautiful catch to dismiss the dangerous Tariq Butt of Mohan bowling and then later Clean bowled A.Sherjil as QC/Stoneywood Dyce were dismissed for 144 in 38.3 overs.

Well done to players from both teams for coping with some freezing conditions during which the ball slowly got heavier! A big thank you to our travelling supporter Jim Farquhar & Arvind.
