Winning the toss and electing to bat first proved to be a masterstroke, as the top order set the tone immediately, with Somu Kumarasamy blazing to 77 off just 47 balls and Madhan Kumar Mohan chipping in with a solid 51.

The real fireworks, though, came from Yovani Gabriel David Vetri Raj, who tore into the Grampian bowlers for a sensational 101 off only 51 balls, studded with 8 fours and 7 sixes, before retiring not out. Sivaganesan Palaniappan added a useful 40, and the late order kept up the assault, with Suleman Quraishi smashing an unbeaten 51 off 27 and Kiran Balasubramanian contributing a rapid 23 off just 8 deliveries.
