On a glorious Saturday afternoon at the Groats Road the big hitting Lahore Karahi side was victorious in an evenly-matched game against The Juggernaut 1st KnightRiders.
KnightRiders won the toss and elected to field .The in-form Opening Pace Bowlers Prashanth Maniyan & Prashanth Mallireddy bowled very well and restricted the Lahore Karahi batsmen to score big.Lahore Karahi were 29 for 2 after both the openers surrendered their wicket to Prashanth Mallireddy. The next bowling change was crucial point in game as Somu bowled a beautiful spell of 11 overs claiming 5 crucial wickets & Lahore karahi were 84-9 at one point. Then came the tail-ender Chetan who smashed quick 18 runs (2 four's & 1 six) before the team was all out for 112 in 34.1 overs.
Chasing a easy target the KnightRiders were in for a shock as the openers got out cheaply and the score was 6 for 2.Next Siva Rangaraju(28) and Vijay Amrithraj(10) tried to steady the run chase but a series of LBW changed the course .The hard-fought game was lost in the last 10 overs with the 1st XI being bowled out just 22 runs shy of their target of 112 .
Special praise must go to
Prashanth &
Somu for their sharp bowling performance,
Siva for a splendid batting display.
Well done also to all the friends & family memebers who supported the team brilliantly. We would love to see you more on the Greens in next couple of weeks.
